Hello, violin students! My life has been revolving around the violin for the past 25 years and I want to share with you the excitement and privilege it is to be able to play this magical instrument! Thanks to the violin, I have traveled to more than 60 countries around the world and have been part of incredible concerts, cultural experiences and musical adventures. I am a classically trained violinist who also loves to play a wide variety of musical genres and is very flexible when it comes to student approach and teaching methods. I have successfully taught students anywhere between the age of 3 and 73 years old. Passion and determination are the only things I am looking for! Let’s get started!
More about Tanya T.
I started playing the violin at the age of 6 in my home country, Bulgaria. When I was 13 years old, I was one of 10 kids internationally selected to receive a full scholarship to one of the best private Arts Academies in the world- Idyllwild Arts. That sent me straight to California where I performed in many venues around San Diego, LA and Hollywood, including the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
I furthered my studies as a classical violinist at the State University of New York at Stony Brook where I received regular coaching from the Emerson String Quartet, Soovin Kim, Colin Carr, Kurt Muroki. I took part in the Emerson String Festival and the Mannes Beethoven Institute, which gave me a valuable teaching experience. During my years in New York, I also discovered a different approach by playing the electric violin and experimenting with many versatile genres such as pop, rock, house, and jazz music. That experience broadened my horizon and made me realize that the violin can be performed everywhere as long as you are having fun!
Thanks to my passion, I have performed in big production shows around the world including the one and only Broadway Show at Sea and the Carnival in Brazil. I have played at the palaces of the royal leaders of the Middle East, toured around China with a Vienna Orchestra and took part of Andrea Bocelli's concert in Abu Dhabi and Anna Netrebko’s concert at the Dubai State Opera.
Through teaching, I want to share all my knowledge and experience with my students who wish to discover the excitement of mastering the violin! I have taught the Suzuki method at my most recent teaching position at an Arts Academy in Dubai. However, my online and private students are all different ages and have different goals of learning the violin. As a teacher, I seek to find the best approach to every student and can be strict, fun and flexible at the same time!
What they say about Tanya
Tanya is an amazing violin instructor! My daughter has improved tremendously over the course of just one year while working with her. She focuses on a broad range of skills to provide a well rounded education and good comprehension of music. I would definitely recommend working with her because she’s patient and goes out of her way to help her students while teaching important fundamentals of playing.

"Our daughters have studied with Tanya violin for the past 2+ years. She is a fantastic
violinist and an extremely patient teacher, who have taken our children all the way from
beginner pieces, to their present curriculum of concertos and advanced pieces. We highly
recommend Tanya as teacher who can work with all kinds of students, from the very
beginner to the aspiring music major in college."
